"Philanthropy is a way of life. Early on, I learned
the value of helping, giving, and having compassion
so that we may all be our best selves."
Sharen Jester Turney
Today, Sharen Jester Turney continues to live and work by the philanthropic principles she learned as a child. Her early life was shaped by an experience with the heartfelt giving of her hometown of Ardmore's community when her mother was diagnosed with cancer at an early age and her brother suffered brain damage at birth. Sharen remembers the authentic community care that helped support her family during those hard times and works to bring that same compassion to her work supporting children, cancer research and care, and eduction.
